Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions follow a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later released.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people injured by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
